What is ACCELERATE VI?

Accelerate VI is an initiative by the University of Virgin Island’s Research and Technology Park (RTPark) to build a pipeline of promising early-stage startup companies and provide them with the tools they need to grow and scale from the U.S. Virgin Islands.

What does ACCELERATE VI do?

ACCELERATE VI is an Accelerator Program that supports two classes of startups each year by embedding them in a new startup ecosystem being fostered by the RTPark and ACCELERATE VI through a structured three month program. As the companies grow and hit certain milestones, companies will become formal RTPark clients and support long term economic development in our territory.

What does ACCELERATE VI provide?

ACCELERATE VI is creating a new startup ecosystem in the Virgin Islands for entrepreneurs to thrive and grow.

We do this by providing the following services:

  • Community of like-minded entrepreneurs

  • Complimentary workspace

  • Access to capital

  • Mentorship and advisory services

  • Specialized entrepreneurship curriculum

  • Perks and partnership credits

  • Technical assistance

  • Access to national and international markets

  • Grant money to fuel growth

Who is eligible to apply for ACCELERATE VI?

We are seeking startups that:

  • are registered or willing to be registered to do business in the US Virgin Islands

  • have a working Minimum Viable Product (MVP)

  • have the ability to scale into national / global markets

  • have not generated more than $500,000 in annual revenue

  • have received less than $2,000,000 in total investment (e.g., equity, convertible notes, government grants, academic grants)

  • agree to our Code of Conduct and Attendance Policy

Does my company have to be based in USVI at the time of application?

No. We welcome applicants from the USVI and from all over the globe! While we have a focus on investing within and growing our local entrepreneurial community, ACCELERATE VI is open to entrepreneurs and startups who fit the criteria we are looking for. Please note that if you are accepted as part of our cohort, you will need to have your business incorporated in the USVI.

What is the difference between ACCELERATE VI startups and RTPark clients?

ACCELERATE VI works with emerging startup companies. The RTPark is an economic development organization that works with mature companies and supports them through traditional support services including tax incentives, workforce development and university partnerships.
